Ok guys, this is how to put in those cool little symbols in quake. first, put all these damn files into your quake\id1 dir. second, get into the quake console and do this "exec showc.scr" and write down your favorite symbols and letters and shit and also get their number.(in case your dumb, pgup and pgdown are to move the console) third, get into DOS, yes DOS, and go into some edit program. like "edit" and load up one of the "name*" files. where it says NAME first, just type in your normal name real quick. no weird stuff in it or anything. then where the second NAME is, type in your ASCII numbers for the symbols you want. like for mine, (O)REB(O), it would be like this: name "REB" name "€ƒ‚าลย€ƒ‚" and those ascii characters are:128, 131, 130, 210, 197, 194, 128, 131, 130. spaces in your name need to be 160...i think. after your ascii name is in, and your normal name, save your file as whatever.SCR and leave it in that id1 dir. forth, go into quake. get into the console and type "exec whatever.scr" and your pretty symbolized name should magically appear. BUT, when connecting to quake at any time, you need to bind a key to that command so you can redo it quickly because when you connect, your name says UNCONNECTED. but after you redo it a few times it becomes your name. so just type something like this---bind y "exec whatever.scr"---and hit Y after you connect. ok if your stupid and have questions just mail me, you should have my email address. welp, thats about it, have fun with your new names! Oh yeah, the other txt file just explains all the shit i just said except with more words. -REB
